Working Group - Ann Rockley (chair), Mary Lee Kennedy, Lisa Welchman
Attending meeting - Ann Rockley, Bob Doyle
Ann Rockley will study bylaws of AIIM, the ACM and its SIGs, and the AIfIA bylaws modified as CM Professionals bylaws. She will report back and have Governance inputs for next week's meeting on the Business Model, Wednesday, May 26, at 1PM ET.
AIIM governance provides strong control of the Board composition. Members are elected by the existing Board (with two 2-year term maximum, plus extension if the member is appointed to Chair or Vice-Chair). The general membership elects only "at-large Board members."
AIIM bylaws allow for chapters but do not mention SIGs.
AIIM's central mission is to connect "the users and suppliers of document and business process management technologies and services."
Creating an ACM-SIG for Content Management would follow a well-understood path subject to control of the SIG Governing Board (SGB) made up of SIG CEO's. (See Chapter 6 of the ACM bylaws.) While certainly possible, it looks to be a very long-term process.
Tentative governance objectives...these need balloting by tentative mebership.
