The Role of the Executive Director (ED)

  • The ED manages the day-to-day operations of the organization, and translates the CM Professionals mission and Strategic Plan into action. The ED reports to the Board.
  • The ED leads the Management Committee (MC) and runs the MC meetings. The MC is made up of a small number of "Directors" that are responsible for key CM Pros activities.
  • The ED is the organizations' main interface with the public.
  • The ED is empowered to make executive decisions necessary to keep CM Professionals ongoing operations running smoothly.
  • The Board will continue to manage the overall budget, but the ED will have some amount of discretionary spending authority. Future budgets will be developed by a committee comprised of some members of the Board and MC, and including at least the Treasurer and ED.

Vision statement

My vision for the organization is for it to become the premier conduit of information about content management. With a focus on providing content management professionals with such essential information as best practices (technological, procedural and managerial), I would elevate the visibility of the organization by incorporating an educational element to address the needs of those not currently involved in the profession. This enhancement would serve to engage constituents who currently work on the perimeter of the profession, enlighten executive decision-makers, and encourage newcomers. This kind of outreach will ensure that the organization continues to thrive and grow, both financially as well as in relevance to the broader business domains.
